Founded in 1855, the Edinburgh Academical Cricket Club (EACC or Accies) is one of Scotland's oldest and finest cricket clubs. Accies plays cricket in the heart of Edinburgh at New Field, The Edinburgh Academy's sports ground, which has idyllic views of Edinburgh Castle and Fettes College. We are a friendly club with a rich heritage and if you're interested in cricket then Accies invites you to join our club. We have excellent facilities and a picturesque ground near Edinburgh's city centre. Regardless of previous cricketing experience or age, our doors are always open to anyone with an interest in Scotland's fastest growing summer sport.
LOCATION: We play at New Field sports ground. In 2015 a new Pavilion was built and is used by our 2nd XI, 3rd XI and 4th XI. The 1st XI play home matches at the Old Pavilion, which had a fantastic renovation in 2017. Our ground has good transport links and there is plenty of free parking next to our playing fields.
TEAMS: Our 1st XI play in the Baillie Gifford Championship. The 2nd XI and 3rd XI play in Division 2 and Division 6 respectively, East of Scotland Cricket League. Our 4rd XI play in the Sunday League. We also play in the Scottish Cup, Masterton Trophy and a selection of midweek Twenty20 evening matches. During the winter we play in various indoor leagues.
PRACTISE: We run open nets for both beginners and experienced players, non-members are always welcome to come along for a taster session. These sessions take place every Wednesday from 6pm until 8pm, throughout the season, at our outdoor practice nets at New Field sports ground.
INDOOR CRICKET NETS: We have winter sessions from January to April at the Edinburgh Academy Sports Centre, Arboretum Road. Our indoor cricket nets are open to all cricketers regardless of skill level or previous experience and take place every Sunday 12-2pm.
INAUGURAL ACCIES T20: We play an annual celebratory T20 cricket match against the Accies Rugby Club, which is oldest rugby club in Scotland and the second oldest in the World.
SOCIAL: It's not just cricket! We also run a series of social events including Club Dinners, Beer and Curry nights, BBQ's, End of Season Awards Dinner etc.
